After being sick for so long, I finally have a name for my illness: Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, otherwise known as P.O.T.S.

A cardiac condition that's stripped me of my health, weight (causing me to drop to anorexic weight), self confidence, friends, jobs and continuing my education.

My goals are simple: gain weight, be healthier, and get out more. Basically, get my life back!

I'm also hoping to spread some awareness on this little known condition, and to highlight the struggles of the underweight and people with "invisible illnesses."

Windswept Thursday

Last night's "storm" never materialized.
As usual, our weather channel got us all worked up for nothing.
I understand it's better safe than sorry, but it's irritating.
We didn't even get a thunderstorm...it's just insanely windy today.
(Seriously, so windy I get blown all over the place because I'm so thin...it's embarrassing.)
****
On a separate note, this has been one of the worst days I've had in a long time.
It started awful, it's gotten worse, and I can't see it getting better tonight.

Amount of sleep: 7 hours. nightmares

Diet:
- Breakfast: one cup cranberry juice (way too nauseous for anything else)
- Lunch: mac and cheese, 2 cups water
- Dinner: roasted chicken and potatoes, 1 cup dr. pepper for migraine.
- Snack 1: small handful m&ms
- Snack 2: pretzels and small glass dr. pepper (it's 3am on Friday, so I probably should put this on tomorrow's post but oh well)

Exercise/activities:
- n/a

P.O.T.S. symptoms experienced:
so far: nausea, headache, depression, exhaustion, trembles, body aches, memory trouble/ brain fog

Misc:
- called and had some of my records transferred to my POTS specialist...she thinks there could be a connection between a vaccine I received and the onset of my symptoms- wouldn't that be a kicker.
