After being sick for so long, I finally have a name for my illness: Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, otherwise known as P.O.T.S.

A cardiac condition that's stripped me of my health, weight (causing me to drop to anorexic weight), self confidence, friends, jobs and continuing my education.

My goals are simple: gain weight, be healthier, and get out more. Basically, get my life back!

I'm also hoping to spread some awareness on this little known condition, and to highlight the struggles of the underweight and people with "invisible illnesses."

Sunny Saturday

Well it looks to be a gorgeous day here in Buffalo...and I'm looking forward to enjoying it!

Amount of sleep:
~6.5 hours. not restful though with lots of dreams


Heart rate a.m. :
laying down: 96/59 HR:77
standing: 82/53 HR: 140

Diet:

- Breakfast: two waffles with butter, 1 cup chocolate milk
- Lunch: leftover steak with oven roasted potatoes, fruit, 2 cups water
- Dinner: roast chicken drumsticks, green beans with scallions, mushrooms, rice
- Dessert: strawberries, brown sugar and sour cream, 2 cups water
- Snack 1: handful hershey eggs, 1 cup milk
- Snack 2: mixed handful or cheddar chips and cheddar rice cakes. 1 cup lemonade, 1 cup water

Exercise/activities:

- went shopping for Mom's birthday
- sat out in the sun for a short time until POTS cropped up

P.O.T.S. symptoms experienced:

so far: cold extremities, pounding heart, short of breath, nausea, aches, light headed, dizziness

Heart rate p.m. :
laying down: 82/40 HR: 68
standing: 91/66 HR: 108


Misc:
cyst in my wrist is swollen
